Pilates is at the heart of what we do. We keep classes small and teaching personal, so you’re supported and guided — not rushed or overlooked.

Our focus is on building strength, mobility, and confidence through careful, well-paced movement. Whether you’re completely new to pilates or have been practising for years, you’ll find space at Root to move well and progress with confidence.

Reformer Pilates

Build strength, control, and stability using the reformer’s spring resistance in carefully structured, small-group classes. Reformer pilates at Root focuses on controlled movement, core stability, and alignment, with close guidance so you’re supported and progressing safely — whether you’re completely new or looking to be challenged. Ideal if you’re looking to build strength, improve posture, or return to movement with confidence.

Mat Pilates

Develop core strength, body awareness, and mobility through precise, controlled movement. Mat pilates at Root focuses on alignment, breath, and functional movement patterns, helping you build stability and confidence in how you move. Just you, the mat, and expert instruction. Classes are suitable for all levels and can be taken on their own or alongside reformer sessions, deepening control and understanding of movement.

Private Pilates (1-to-1)

Tailored sessions designed around your body, your goals, and your pace. Private pilates sessions at Root offer thoughtful, experienced guidance, ideal if you’re managing injury, rebuilding confidence, or want more focused support. Sessions can be used to work toward specific goals or to complement group classes, helping you move with greater clarity, confidence, and care.

I’ve been seeing Mavra from Root Pilates for over two years. During this time I’ve had two total hip replacements. Mavra’s classes and one to one coaching sessions have significantly contributed towards my rehabilitation. Mavra’s knowledge and awareness of the body is incredible, she is the best Pilates practitioner I have ever come across. Mavra’s a gem and her thirst to further both her own knowledge and offer further opportunities to clients led to me participating in her Somatic classes which delve deeper into the link between our mind and movement.
